Hi
I would like to start by saying that my english may not be perfect since I am from Iceland, but I hope You can understand me.

The thing is that I am building a sbc 383 and I am not sure if I have selected the rigth cam.
my combo is:
383 stroker 11.5 to 1 cr
6" rods, keith black pistons
hevy alu heads casting nr. 113 ported and intake vavles are now 2.02
58cc chamber
1 5/8 headers
full roller rockers 1.5 ratio
edelbrock performer rpm
holley street avenger 770cfm carb (vacum sec)
the cam I wanted to run is voodoo 601005
@ 050 241/249 525/541 lift

I would like to have power brakes (like not need)
the car will be used for street/strip
my question is:
can I use that carb? (vacum sec)
What power could I be looking at? (just want to see have right I am)
or should I be looking at some other can

Gardar,

If vacuum is the more important thing, use the next size smaller VooDoo cam---the 60104. It makes decent vacuum in 383s, and good HP/torque too. The 60104 is an updated version of the most popular street/strip cam UltraDyne ever made. Horsepower with this cam will range from 450 on a very conservative dyno to over 510 on more optomistic dynos.
The 60105 will pick this up about 15 BHP, with a little less vacuum. I do not remember what vacuum we pulled on the dyno, but we were testing a low-CR 350, not a 11.5:1 355. The 60105 will require a looser converter than the 60104.
Perhaps some of our members can tell what sort of vacuum they pull.....
