Guys I'm sorry I brought the subject of lacquer paint up.
I am sorry if I hurt someones feelings about what kind of paint was on their car.
I never gave that a thought, what I was thinking was after you go thru all the work on your car,and you guys know how much work there is , in my opinion I thought lacquer paint was a nicer looking finish and wanted to tell you guys that but I guess it didn't come across that way.
I think I was stuck on lacquer because I paint my cars black and as some of you know black looks better without clear. I know you can get bc cc in lacquer but I tryed it and black still looks better with out clear.
I am not a professional painter so my opinion really means nothing.
I looked at all the pictures you guys sent and all of your cars are great looking.
I apologize and am sorry if I offended any one on Team Chevelle.

You didn't offend me, I think lacquer looks the best too. You don't see classic Fender guitars painted with BC/CC, it just wouldn't be right. Rock & Roll=Lacquer, Wannabe=BC/CC.

Your opinion is as important as anyone's. I think your enthusiasm for the subject was taken a bit strongly by some folks is all.

I think most of us understand the message you are giving better at this point but it was nice of you to post this thread anyway. A few of us probably owe you an apology as well for reacting so strongly to your original post on the topic.

Bottom line: a good paint job is a good paint job regardless of the paint used.

Hey, I learned something new. I always thought lacquer had been done away with at the factory by the early sixties. I was very surprised to discover that it was still in use in the early seventies.
When you learn something new, what is there to complain about?
