ok, the time has come to finally repaint my 70 chevelle. graemlins/thumbsup.gif I want to repaint it the correct green mist paint. I was told at a body shop that they could match the color. What do I need for him to match it? paint codes? picture? What do I do next? call ppg or dupont? Im also in the 93510 zip of CA, so if anyone out here knows a great body shop/ paint shop PLEASE let me know. Thanks.

They just need the color code from the i.d. plate underhood. From there, they can match the paint to a near exact match as possible since paint companies keep the mixing formulas on microfiche. graemlins/beers.gif

there's a problem with that. I dont have the original hood. It came with a repro. SS, that I sold because Im going to use a fiberglass 4" cowl now. Where else can I look? Most of the old tags have been removed from the previous paint job.

The id plate is on the cowl underneath where the back
of the hood comes down. If you do a search on hear for
cowl tags you should be able to find a pic of one
showing where the paint code is.
