: SS stripe stencils from NPD
70isfine Aug 19th, 02, 9:40 PM I just spent about four hours laying out the stencils i bought from NPD.I guess all stencil kits are not the same.I used one from chevelle classics(OPG now) about 10 years ago and it worked like a dream. The ones i used today are a nightmare. The corners are sloppy and the stripe tape they include is a little thinner then the stripe on the stencil!WTF?I was going to get the kit from ground up,they specify that its 3M and it was cheaper too but i could't get through to them,I can usually do them free hand in a few hours, and in an hour with the stencil. What a waste of 53 bucks.Have a look

Here i laid the stripe on a peice of the stencil to see the width difference. http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/25ebf0f1/bc/other+stuff/Stripe_tape2thin.jpg?bcTgTi 9AC2ZcfekQ (http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/25ebf0f1/bc/other+stuff/Stripe_tape2thin.jpg?bcTgTi9AC2ZcfekQ)

ohhawk Aug 22nd, 02, 5:28 PM I ordered from them as well recently. Mine shipped on 7/11 but I haven't used them yet (70 SS). When did yours ship? Wonder if there is any way to tell if there is a problem with mine before I get started?
Did they have anything to say when you contacted them? Thanks.
Super70 Aug 22nd, 02, 6:49 PM Bought some form OPGI several years ago and have yet to use them. Have not taken them out of the package so I do not know if they are of the 2nd or first design(FYI, there are two stripe dimensions--early design main stripe width=10.64", 2nd design main stripe width=9.63".
70isfine Aug 22nd, 02, 7:22 PM They actually turned out good,just a lot of extra work.I didn't contact them,I should though.Take a look. http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/25ebf0f1/bc/1970+Chevelle/Paint/paint8.jpg?bcDzQj9A3j.Edm8V http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/25ebf0f1/bc/1970+Chevelle/Paint/__hr_paint6.jpg?bczRYZ9A81GTpID4

70isfine Nov 29th, 02, 7:22 AM I would try ordering from Ground Up.Their catalog says something about 3M.Mine were not made by 3M.I just talked to a guy who did the stripes about a month ago,and he described the same problem i had.Sorry,i deleted those pics. You can see the finished stripes if you click on the link in my sig and go to 70chevelle/paint.
