My cylinderhead bolts have goop on them for sealant. YetI need to oil them for tourqe readings. whats the best way to do that?

Greg,
You do not lube them if they have sealer on them. You can put a little oil on the underside of the bolt head if you like. Just torque them, they will be fine. Thats how the factory did it.

If I am thinking correctly torque specs are based on dry threads. I usually clean them and dry the threads apply sealant and torque. A dab of oil under the head is a good idea do keep the head from galling.
