Restoring a 70 chevelle 2-door bench seat,a spring is broke on the driver side,on the side(only one spring here). Called Year One tech line, did not have that spring. Anyone know of a company making springs,I already have a 28 year old seat, I would like a new spring if possible!
Thank you,Garry

Hi, Garry.

I have a 70 Malibu and went thru the same thing when I redid the bench seat. I had 3 other springs in the back rest portion that were broke besides the drivers side support spring. I salvaged the springs from another seat.

They can be had (side support springs) for $25.00 a pair from Gear Box Grannies (Cincy Ohio) 1-800-344-1956. I think Ground Up has them. They are listed in the Year One catalog though.

I wish I had put a new spring in mine when I recovered the seats this past spring. I just think it should be stiffer than it is. I have to pull the carpet in the spring, so I might put a new set in then.

Check my page for a few pics of the seats.
