Hard?? Sounds like this might be a loaded question. First of all, if you are a body guy replacing a panel would probably be pretty easy to do. If you are a regular Joe like most enthusiasts here, you might be in for a nightmare. I did all the bodywork/painting on my car and it was not easy. It takes lots of time and patience. You also need patience..did I say paintence already?
Be prepare for more than you bargained for when attempting this. I would leave replacing panels to someone who have years of experience doing it. I would have to jack up a nice $400 1/4 cuz my welding skills are horrible.

However, if you think you can do it. Try reading through some of the archives and postings searching for this topic. good lucks

I just replaced the left quarter panel on my 71 El Camino and it was a big job. I had no experience so I took a summer course at City Collage in body repair. You MUST know how to weld if you are going to do it yourself. I was shown how to weld and do the work by the teacher and it came out very good. It took twice as long as I had planed. I would not attempt this without someone showing you how. My City collage course was $50., money well spent.

Yes its a big job , I have done body work and know how to weld but if you don't have the artistic talent and know how I would pay someone to do the work ,, at least have them cut old one off and hang new one and then you could save some cash doing the finial finishing , I just discovered my 70 has hidden rust/rot on both quarters , in my case I found it cheaper to get another rust free body http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
