Anyone have a windshield installed by Safelite? What brand of glass did they use? What is the best replacement brand of glass to use?

They are thinner than oem glass

I wonder if all the glass is thinner and lighter? If so how much?

My experiance is Safetlite glass is junk. I have seen a number of them that were so wavy you would get a headache looking thru it.

I NEVER heard of such a thing...does anyone have a web address for them? Just curious...my 64 Chevelle race car needs front and rear glass and ide glass as well...I'm wanting to replacing the lexan.

I had the windshield in my P/U truck replaced recently by Safelite. After 2 weeks, bubbles started appearing in the center of the windshield. The glass was actually delaminating. They replaced it again with no hassles. I think the shops a franchises (not sure). Nice people to deal with at the one I went to but I wouldn't want to have to go thru a double install everytime.

bottom line, you get what you pay for, and they are cheap...
