apart from the hood and gauges, it's probably not a bad car ? it sounds like it might go allright too from the description, body looks decent for black but who knows what's under the paint ?

Maybe just a little bit of overkill on the gauges !!!! Would be in the ditch or across the centerline trying to pay attention to all those gauges. Far as I'm concerned I only need to know how much oil pressure, how hot is the motor, and is the electrical system up to snuff. But to each his own, I always say !

Ok, I'll bite.

I like gauges, but only when they are intalled tastefully. Aluminum or stainless panel filled with matching dials...nice.

Hacked and tacked like a bunch of round tumors on a nice dash...tacky.

So yeah, his gauge cluster looks slightly hideous. Put them in a nice array...better.

That collection would give even James Bond something to worry about.

In his defense, it's possible to have three fuel pressure gauges on a nitrous car. 1 line pressure and 1 for each stage of nitrous. (2 stage set up). And since your not allowed to have fuel or oil inside the passenger compartment, the 4th gauge on the hood is probably a mechanical oil pressure guage. The ones inside are probably trans temp. (important, too) water temp, volts, and maybe oil temp. Those are good for tuning a nitrous car before going to the track. The driver usually DOESN'T look at the guages. For tuning purposes, he takes a co-pilot. I seen more cars like this than you think. Thats NOTHING! I knew a guy that liked gauges. His 55 Chevy had them side by side from A-pillar to A-pillar all the way across the top of the dash.

I think its like nascars ignition he has a switch just in case a gauge fails he can switch over to the spare.

If you check out the background of the one picture you can see the Chevelle is parked in front of a driveway with a rice car in the driveway being worked on......I think the answer of the gauges has been explained by that car in the driveway. His friends are probably on him to sell the Chevelle cause you can't add a 7 layer shopping cart wing, so the chevelle will never be fast....:D
