I contacted a company and they want $1400 to blast the entire body, hood, and deck lid. Is this price in-line with what some of you have paid? It seemed high to me.

That is outrageous. Are you in California?? I had less than that in 2 complete cars.

Inludes frame? If so, it seems fair...maybe a bit high but if a reputable place, it might be worth the few extra bucks.

That is very high. Local guy here charges about $350-$450 for an entire body.

I paid $750 to have my 69 Charger blasted. They did the entire body shell inside & out, top & bottom, the doors, fenders, and grille support. $1400 is way too high. I did not have them do the trunk lid or hood since I did not want them damaged....they cannot be replaced.

This price was for the entire bare shell body, doors, hood, and deck lid. I am in rural Kansas. The problem is called "No Competition"

I think I will do it myself. What type of media would you recommend on the body. The shop that gave me the quote said they use glass beads on the entire body to remove rust except the sheetmetal. They use plastic media on the sheetmetal at 30psi. I have a nice pressure blaster already that I used on the frame and chassis components. It is a dirty job but it will save me some money and I won't have to worry about transporting it.

Soda blasting is very effective.....on paint, however, it does nothing on rust. If rust is not an issue on the body, there should be some mobile soda blasters out there.

It seems he was 1/2 that but not sure of that.
