Just thought I'd ask around before committing to selling. I've got a basket case 1972 442 that my brother wants to put on ebay. Rough rough rough. Body is beat up, not overly rusty, just dented up. Floor is rusty. Originally 350/4 speed car, no motor or trans but still has the 10 bolt posi, rear sway bar and boxed control arms. Gears are either 3.42 or 3.23, never checked them out. One of something like 1200 4 speed cars that year. Blue on blue with oddball bench seat/ 4 speed combo. What do you guys think this is worth? I realize this isn't a Chevelle, but at least it's a GM a body.

Well 1972 442 , the body isnt as nice. worth really what you are willing to pay. There also not as desirable either.

I figure it will probably be bought by someone wanting the rear end and suspension pieces. What's the going rate on those items?

not to make you mad, but you really need pics. parting out sounds good until you have parts that you can not find a home for. rear end/ suspension pieces are almost worthless. everyone knows they are junk, or have to be rebuilt. if it is a 12 bolt you could get maybe $150 for it.

Im not sure how the guys are in the olds market. But lets not forget that just because the car has a 10 bolt, its not to be confused with the Chevy 10 bolt. They are not the same and many B-O-P cars had that rearend. So im sure its worth it to an olds guy. Might as well list it and see what happens.

This is the corporate or chevy style rear. Not the BOP style. My Cutlass has the BOP rear. I don't think the BOP rear came in 442's at all, although someone will probably swear that their pappy had one in all 50 of the 442's he owned. lol
