Out of a late model truck, how do these rate as manual trans? Have a core sitting here at work wondering if they're rebuildable and worth it to throw in a Chevelle.

I have one in my 98 Chev 1/2 ton. It is behind a 4.3 V6.
It shifts nice even with the 2 foot long shifter.
The gear ratio spreads are nice. I am not sure about the strength though.

I had a cast iron 62 -4 speed in my 454, worked just super untill the tires quit spinning and it hooked up. The key word could be TORQUE. Bob
