I pulled out my fender skirt tonight and noticed to silver posts that are oriented vertically, about 3/4 to 1 inch apart and held on with small press on clips not a screw on nut. The outside of the fender has been worked so no trace or outline of the emblem is visible. This is a '70 El Camino (Sep '69 built) with a matching # 396. If this is an SS car weren't the SS emblems side by side in '70? Does any one remember what theirs looks like?

Found the answer today when I looked inside a same year SS fender. Each "S" had it's own two posts attaching it to the fender. Where the other posts would be is shown by puddy being pushed through. Since this fender has the original autumn gold on the bottom layer it looks like a step in the right direction. smile.gif
