I'm sure this has been discussed numerous times on this site but what's one more. I need advice on which one of the three has the best reproduction parts. Re-doing a 72 ss and I need two new front fenders. I thought I would solicit the board to see who has ahd experience with the 3 companies and what they thought. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Murph

I had this same dilemma recently for my car and eventually I found some mint originals from a socal parts car... and they were less than the repops. Don't count out the possibility of finding good used ones.

I would bet both OPG and Year One sell Goodmark produced fenders.
Especially Year One...they and Goodmark are located within a few miles of each other. ;)

Goodmark has done a great job marketing themselves but they don't stamp their own parts. They are made overseas just like all the other aftermarket parts.I found out when I did some quarters on a 66 nova for a customer.I ordered a goodmark quarter and I had to replace the other side as well.To make a long story short there was a 2 week wait for the other quarter but sherman had one in stock. With a sherman and goodmark quarter beside each other they were identical.I'm not saying this is always the case but I have been impressed with most of there stuff and have found it to fit really well.It doesn't matter if you have NOS,repro,or used you will have to do some tweaking to make things fit, that has been my experience after 15 plus years in the autobody trade.Just my 2 cents. :D

Goodmark isnt the only one stamping parts for these cars. Another company stamping parts is DII or dynacorn. The DII parts are not the same qualty as goodmarks. When I bought a pair of goodmarks for my 70, the first pair I recieved didnt fit and looked very bad. Waves, dents, poor lines from a bad stamp or die, overall POS'S. To make this story a short one also, I found out that the dealer tried to pawn off some DII fenders as goodmarks becuase they make more money on the DII fenders then the goodmarks. graemlins/sad.gif When I confronted the dealer with what I found out he took back those DII fenders got me goodmarks and knocked off some bucks. The goodmarks I got later fit great looked great. I work in a production body shop and see lots of aftermarket parts and these goodmarks are great parts.

Every goodmark part Ive bought has come in a goodmark box with a goodmark sticker, those first fenders didnt come with either. The part numbers on the boxes werent goodmark numbers, but numbers from DII. Good luck and be sure to double check...Eric

Hey thanks guys for the info. I ordered the fenders from Goodmark today. Sounds like they are the way to go. I just started a autobody class and only go once a week. Maybe by years end I'll be able to get the original fenders in good enough shape to put back on but for now...goodmark will have to due.
