Well my turn signal cancel and switch on my 67 Malibu (column shift) were all cracked up so it's time to replace it. Has anyone done this and is there an easy way to do it without pulling the column out of the car...or is that the only way? It sure would be nice if there was a small access panel at the bottom of the column that runs to the top that lets you gain access to the harness but there isn't. Does the outer casing of the column seperate from the rest of the column???
I sure don't want to risk damaging any of these new wires when I replace it!
P.S. I currently use a floor shifter and have removed the shift arm from the column...if that helps me at all?
Anyone who has done this or knows how please help!

70-72 pull the wheel, remove the signal arm and 3 screws and it slides right out and the new right back in. There is quite a bit of space in the bottom of the shaft. I Think 67 is about the same.....

Here are the instructions on replacing the 1967 - 1968 turn signal switch.

I would appreciate any comments that you might have that would improve or clarify the instructions.

Thanks Jim,
The only thing that's different is that when I went to NPD sunday they sold me a "2 piece" harness. Now it's long enough to go all the way down and up under the dash and connect to the 2nd harness which in turn connects to the U-shaped plug but the (original harness in the car now) is a "1-piece" all the way to that same U-shaped connector. I'm wondering if it's some sort of universal harness? It does also have an area on the switch for a light which obviousely you don't need with the Chevelle column. Any thoughts?
I did however read through the link you sent me and it looks like a cake walk to change this thing out without removing the column from the car.
I will probably change it out this saturday and I'll post how it went. Hey Jim I noticed you also live in Michigan...busy this saturday? lol
