I am about to lift the body of my 69 Malibu Conv. The trunk lid, doors, front fenders grille etc., seats. carpet, and sound deadener'covertible top, and dashboard have all been removed . The floor pan (drivers side) is welded in and the passenger side floor has been patched (perimeter welded). The window glass is still in.
I would like to know the optimum points for attaching chains for lifting the body. The outboard rear seat safety belt anchor bolts (1/2 20 thread) look like they might work but I would like to be sure. The front cowl will be lifted through the front body mount access holes. The door frames will be braced.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
John

Sounds like you're on the right track....I also used the front body mounting holes (square holes) for front lift points. A great way of lifting the back is to remove, or open the trunk lid, and remove your rear wiring harness and rubber seal plugs. The two holes that the wires pass thru are large enough to pass a small chain. Slide a long bolt thru the chain at the bottom link, use a piece of wood to protect body, then lift away. TC member JeffK used this method on his '70. Here's how Jeff did his:
