I know someone needs this rear end. Please try to buy it from this guy before he ruins it forever.

I was thinking the same thing when I read it. Would be ashame seeing how Impala 12 bolts are reasonablely priced.

I didnt know the 67 chevelle 12 bolt was a one year thing?Didnt they have them in 65 for the z16 ?If he cuts up that rear he should be shot.Go buy a dime a dozen 9 inch or something and use it instead.

The 67 housing is the same width as 65-66. But, it uses the 68-72 style raised circular spring pads, which captures the spring. 65-66 uses a flat style and a bolt through the center.

All three early years have physical differences while maintaining the same width. 65's (casting number 3959140N) have additional cast braces on the upper center section running diagonally down to the axle tube area that 66 and later A-Body housings don't have. 66's (casting number 3875745N) have the flat spring mounts like the 65 but without the upper braces and 67 (casting number early-3894939NF and late-3917124NF) had the "hats" on the perch to locate the springs. My two cents worth!

Unfortunately alot of us have to use what we have, I thought agout doing the same with a 12 bolt I had in my 70. I bought another one with better gear ratio, and so had a spare 12 bolt sitting here. Figure it was the same width as my 71 camaros so, all I had to do was modify it, instead of having to buy a impala 12 bolt then paying to have it narrowed, buying axles. having spring pads put on. In the end I just kept the 10 bolt in the camaro, and sold the 12 bolt to someone who had more cash then sense. Jim
