I just noticed today while driving my 64 malibu that my front bench doesnt lock the best. The lever is locked but my seat moves about 1 inch on the drivers side and about 2 or 3 on the passenger side. Anyone know if i can fix this? thanks

Remove all your seat bolts...lean seat back while it is still in car...not necessary to take the bench outta car...you will spy a messed up wire running from one track to the other...that is your problem most likely...aircaft wire works real good...:thumbsup:

the wire is fine and tight. Any other idea on what it might be??

Make sure on the wire...a lot of times they look right...however they can be to tight or stretched to were they won't work...I am sure you operated the mechanism when you looked at the wire, if not try again...

This is puzzling...take a good look at teeth in the tracks and the ball bearings that the tracks run on...while your down there make sure everything is lubricated good too...
