does anyone know is it a common problem or do i just got the luck. crack in frame both sides same places front part of frame behind front suppension at the point were the frame go's down and starts to strighten out towards the back. the oblong factory holes cracked downward and half way across bottom. can i weld this and weld on extra pice of flat steel to help support this?

Yes this can be welded.

Vee out the crack and than drill a hole at each end of the crack

The vee out allows for deeper penetration of the weld and the holes in the end allow the crack from spreading in the frame.

It's a common problem, esp with 4 speeds and high horse power cars. Weld it up and plate it but also take a good look at your lower A frame mounts. They like to tear the welds there too and break away.
