Im took out the old dash to replace with a covan classic dash and i cant seem to get the light switch off the dash. I tried twisting and unscrewing everything doesnt seem like anything will budge. it also has that large piece of metal on the back that holds it in place along with the wiper switch (which is removed) so anyone have any ideas? If you need pictures let me know... its a 1968 chevelle

Reach up inside the dash on the bottom of the switch you will feel a pin that is spring loaded push up on the pin and pull the light switch out Dirks SS

As Dirkey said, find the pin, push it and pull the light switch knob out. Now release the pin and put the knob shaft back in the hole and push your lights off. The knob and shaft will pull right back out so you can remove the bezal holding the switch in the dash. You have to push the pin in again when your ready to install the switch knob again.
