: trunk body mount question

I am replacing the trunk floor with pans from Year One. I am positioning the new body mount braces to them. My question is--- do the mount braces extend outward right against the inner wheelhouse and get spot or plug welded to the inner wheelhouse as well as to the trunk floor. My old mounts were rotted right out against the wheelhouse so I can't tell where the new ones fit. If I just weld them to where the body mount bolt screws up into the brace, the mount won't touch the inner wheelhouse to allow any tack welding there. I can move the cage nut a bit so I can push the mount right against where the inner wheelhouse will be (when I rebuild it that is), but that is a bit of work. Can someone jump under a car with original setup to see if that mount needs to touch and be welded to the inner wheelhouse? By the way, working on a 65 chevelle, but I suspect most later years will be the same.

Yes the mounts get welded to the inner wheelhouse, I welded mine with body in place and bolts screwed into mounts, making sure everything was flush/lined up., if yours dont come up flush with inner wheelhouse and mount holes, something may be ouit of whack, I had to get a second set of trunk floor mounts as the first set didnt fit well.
