My body man seems to think on the underside of the hood, the black should not extend all the way to the sides or the front & back of the hood.

He wants to tape it off to leave some body color under the hood.

What is the correct masking pattern? Or should the underside of the hood be black all the way out to the edges of the hood?

I could send you a photo, but the reality is, you don't need it. The Underhood is BLACK. That means everything on the bottom, the flat areas, not the sides or the edges., they are body paint Now if you or your paint guy were going the anal ;) corect route...let some of that Bright Yellow paint overspray on the black under the hood..just a tad.
