My Mallory Coil is leaking oil & need to replace it. It's the canister type. Does anyone know of a suitable replacement in the MSD line? Eventually I am going to replace the current Hyfire IV box & 9000 Unilite with the MSD. Would a blaster ss coil be compatible with the rest of my ignition system? Also, trying to avoid the canister style because of mounting limitations.

Yeah.. I think the Blaster SS will be find. It can be used with the MSD 6A or 6AL if you step up to it.. A commond setup. Or are you thinking of going Digital-7?

I used the Blaster on my LT1 and it worked fine. And like bczee said, it is compatible with the MSD units.

will more than likely go to a msd 6al when I get more cash saved. I bought the blaster ss. Much easier to mount than the canister type I previously had.I tried to buy a Mallory coil because I wasn't sure if the MSD would be compatible with the Mallory box, but the speedshop laughed & said not much demand for the Mallory. I could order it if you have your heart set on it.

Thanks. I knew it would be compatible with the MSD units since its the same brand. I just wasn't sure if I could use it with my Mallory Hyfire IV box.
