I am replacing the hinges and springs on my 1970 Chevelle Malibu. I need to find out the correct color for the hinges and springs in that I do not want to get marked down at shows for having the wrong colors. I have been told several combinations, but at this point am not sure which to use. Please help, time running short and have to get this done.
Thanks

Correct-Gray Phosphate on both hinge, spring and upper and lower hood latch.
Alternative-Use Cat Blast spray paint. Put on a couple of light coats and than apply a "dry spray" for the final coat holding the can a couple feet from the part. This will give it that rough texture that phosphate leaves.
