None of the lights in the dash work except for turn signals, any chance of a simple fix? The fuse in the fuse panel is good, is there any other fuse or circuit breaker I don't know about?

Check the light switch isn't turned all the way down, that will dim the dash lights, check the bulbs aren't all blown ? If all headlights, parking and tail lights work the variable resistor in the switch could be faulty. Dave packer Dec 7th, 06, 2:41 AM Sorry I didn't say what model, but it is a 67 El camino, you have helped me in the past, strange from half way around the world! Don't like the way the headlight switch is hard to turn, might try changing it. Thanks. anychevy Dec 7th, 06, 3:29 AM no problem, yep, it's a small world. Sounds like a rusted up resistor, good luck. Dave SteveSK Dec 7th, 06, 8:46 PM Tail lights working? If the fuse for your taillights goes, the dash lights will also go off. packer Dec 8th, 06, 1:14 AM Tail lights work, bought a new headlight switch tonight, hope that fixes the problem, doesn't seem easy to get to though! anychevy Dec 8th, 06, 1:44 AM Yeah it's a bitch, you pull the switch out all the way then get your finger up to the side of the switch and push in the button as you pull out the rod, then you can unscrew the nut and pull the whole switch out the back and swap it over, you'll need a band aid and a beer when your finished ! dave packer Dec 8th, 06, 2:48 AM Got bandaids and always got beer, might have to try a beer before I start! Thanks you always have good advice. |
