I am getting ready to spray some small parts; brackets, heater fan housing, power steering pump pully, etc. After blasting/cleaning what kind of primer (spray can) would be best to use under the top coat?

Top coats will be Eastwood's Underhood Black (firewall, fan housing, etc) and a good quality black gloss.

Recomendations please!

Anyone? Just curious if I should use any specific type or if general use primer will do just fine.

Thanks...

self etching primer or an epoxy primer is perfect for bare or sandblasted metal, also POR-15 is great too.
I did all my pulleys and brackets with it, then went over evrything with their chassis coat black. it all looks factory.

Dan,

I used Plasti Coat Rust inhibitive Sandable Primer. Went on great. Being a lacquer base it dries quickly and can be coated within 30 minutes. I lightly sanded with 400 and top coated with Eastwoods Underhood. I found three to four coats of Eastwoods gives a great finish. Between the primer and the Eastwoods, the finish is smooth and satin.

I used it on my control arms and chassis, but top coated those with Eastwoods Chassis Black.

You can see some of the parts on my web page.
