: chevelle frame question

are a 70 Chevelle and a 71 le mans frame interchangeable? I just want to be completely sure be i buy the le mans frame.

Not sure about firewall back, but the firewall forward frame section is TOTALLY different at the core support. GTOs (and therefore tempests) radiator core support are suspended from the frame, whereas the chevelle core support sits atop the frame. The Buick frame is closer, but I seriously doubt identical to the Chev.

try doing a search, I remember a thread that had quite a list of possible frames to use.

68-72 A-body frames are interchangable. The front crossmember is even drilled for the various engines. The Monte Carlos and Grand Prix chassis use the same suspension pieces, but have a longer wheelbase.

cool, looks like iam going to be doing a frame swap in the next few weeks.
