Hey guys I know you have to depress the spring/button on the "bottom" of the assembly. I do that and still can not get the dang switch to come out. Does it have to be turned to the left or right or does that not matter at all?

In my experience you just have to keep yanking it till it comes out.

Depressing the button removes the "stem and knob" assy from the switch,
switch itself will (probably) have a "spanner" type nut holding it to the dash panel.
After you remove the stem you will gain access to the nut.

Lookig ti remove the stem and knob, I'll keep depressing and pulling ! ! !

Pull the knob all the way out, depress the plunger in the center of the switch under the dash and Viola, the rest is done by unscrewing the nut in the center with a large straight screwdriver. Hope this helps.
