: need help quick!
i've decided not to try and fix the fenders on my 71 chevelle. anyone bought any new fenders recently for a 71-72? just trying to find out what products seem like the best quality and fit. anyone used any fenders from Ground Up or any other place? i ordered all my chrome and misc from G/U, but i want to make sure i get good fitting fenders. i'd like to find a set of factory fenders that are in good shape, but i figure that's probably a shot in the dark.

I've seen several replies that the Goodmark fenders are the best for fit.
chevelledude71 Mar 11th, 04, 7:18 PM Nothing fits better than the original. I know i'm only one person that has bought goodmark fenders (passenger) but it didn't fit as well as the company said it would. The body shop owner says he tried for 3 hours to get it to fit the best he could, but who knows if he was telling the truth or not. In my link, the passenger side of my car is shown, you can tell the fender doesn't match up by the looks of it, but it's the best the shop could do...good luck and if you can, get original fenders, even if you have to pay a little more for them. My car is nowhere original anymore, so I decided to suffer with the way the fender looked...for now anyway.
i have heard that about Goodmark before. actually the buddy who is doing the body work and paint on my car has a set of 69 camaro fenders from goodmark, and they fit so terribly he has decided to just cut the pieces out of those to patch his original fenders. $500 scrap metal is what they ended up being for him. but the door skins he got from them were about 99% perfect fit. i'm afraid if i don't find some originals, it's just going to be a crap shoot. :(
thanks for the quick replies. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

But I got those on last week and I LOVE them, super straight clean panels, there perfect. And a great price! I might have a picture of them on my link if you wanna check em' out. Go with NPD :D

Wallace, Did you by any chance buy yours before the retooling, or maybe some leftover stock from someone? I had to wait 8 months for mine during the retooling process, and when I finally got them, they actually fit better than the originals. Just curious.

saint of killers Mar 12th, 04, 10:20 PM Bought both fenders, both door shells, both full quarters and hood from goodmark and they all fit ok for me. My biggest problem was getting the light buckets to fit right (think they were smacked a few times...lol).
