We know a lot about '68 Camaros and '65 GTOs but are new to Chevelles.

We've inherited three 1966 Chevelle front doors (2 passenger and 1 driver) but we'd like to know if they're for 2-door or 4-door and even if they're really Chevelle doors.

Is there any way to figure this out? The doors we have are 49 to 50 inches long with vent windows.

They're in great shape and we don't want to just throw them away. (Don't destroy: restore, right?)

Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

Rafab, There should be a 5 digit number near the top of the door (sometimes under the top stainless trim for the door panel). The number will tell you what its for. If it says 13617,, it's for a 2dr hardtop. If it's for a 2dr sedan, or a 4dr sedan, it will probably be 13X11 or 13X69 (not exactly sure what the X will be). For instance I have doors for 2 dr malibu's and 2dr SS's and both say 13617. If you look the number up here 66 Decoding (http://www.chevelles.com/years/66/66facts.htm) you should be able to figure it out.
