My name is Eric, and I am an avid car enthusiast.Resently around here ,in Crossville,Tenn.,more and more people are building street cars and driving them to the track on 92 or higher octane race fuel, and then switching them over to Alcohol at the track.Or,injecting Alcohol into the engine by using a Nitrous solonoid and a small jet plumed into the intake or intake charge.I know the good and bad points of Alcohol, and this probably isn't legal at a santioned event. I have heared that this is an old scool trick to pick up that little bit of E.T.,I was wondering what you all thought.
With the price of 92 still at 2.50 a gal. and 110 at 5.00 a gal.,Alcohol at 1.88, this doesn't seem like a bad idea.

Alcohol prices are on the way up and it takes twice as much to make the same power as gas. I wouldnt use it personally in a street car, too much trouble switching back and forth and alcohol is very corrosive to your fuel system.

I would do one or the other. I know someone who drives the car around the pits on gas and then switches before the water box and then switches again in the shutdown. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Trying to make a bracket car simple this wasn't. I think mainly it was done to cut warm up time.
