Here is two questions -

1. What is the best way to deal with the problem area around the back window at the bottom? Mine is so rusted that when I removed the trim, most of the clips holding it came with it. I think the previous owner just painted over the rust! graemlins/angry.gif It is now also leaking into the trunk.

2. Where do I need to begin looking if water is leaking into the passenger floorboard? My carpet is all molded and ruined now. Will have to replace once bodywork and paint are done.

Thanks for any help.

Mine has the same problem. I think the previous owner parked it under a pine tree for awhile because when I took out the rear window there were pine needles in the window seal glue. The remnents are a 4" X 4" hole on near the lower left window frame and a piece of vinyl siding riveted into place to hold the rear deck to the window frame section.
I called Goodmark and ordered a new deck filler panel for like $80. I fills the whole section that holds the rear window with new metal and its pretty reasonably priced. No more vinyl siding either!
The rusted area may not be sealed thus causing your water problem in the rear interior section.
Have you checked around the rear fender well for leaks into the interior?
