Not a chevelle related question but I still need help. I have a 97 Jeep Wrangler SE, today the guages started randomly quitting working. The airbag light would come on and then the guages would freeze. All of the guages would do it. Eventually the airbag light would go off and the guages would start working again. All guages are electronic. The engine ran fine and never sputtered but the guages were strange.

Have you tried the "fonzie" aproach ? Bang the top of the dash with your fist !
But seriously, it could be a million things, my guess is a dry joint in the cluster somewhere. Sounds like the ECU is good if your engine's running o.k. and the
"check engine" light's not on, Did the dash or interior ever get wet off road ?
The airbag light ? mmmm Try unplugging the airbag sensors and cleaning the plugs and sockets out with some silicone spray or contact cleaner, can't hurt.
Last resort, call your friendly JEEP dealer and speak to the service manager.

Apparently there is a tsb out for this. It is something like corrosion in the connector. Can't find much info.

Apparently there is a tsb out for this. It is something like corrosion in the connector. Can't find much info. That's exactly what the problem is. I work at a Jeep dealership, so if you want me to fax the tsb to you I'll print it out tomorrow, it'll give you the part number(s) and procedures to fix it. Just PM a fax number to me.
