you guys have done good so far. I keep digging stuff out from under the piles! I can see parts of my floor now. parts that ar NOT greasy. I was told this is a rea r license plate brace for a 69 chevelle. I didn't think they had one! looks like possibly a camaro front license plate holder, 69-73? Cant remember what the 67-8 ones look like.

It appears to be the center rear bumper brace for an el camino. I put together a 71 LS5 El Camino that, if I remember, had the same brace for the rear bumper. It goes right behind the license plate. ;)

yeahthats probably right but you could use it as a camaro plate holder! :D

That is a 1968-72 El Camino rear bumper bracket.
It holds the center of the bumper to the frame.
