My car was orginaly a four speed car w/o the consoul. I have an automatic in it now and need to replace the hump because it is rusting through. Should i just get some thin sheet metal and try to form a trans tunnel or is there a better way of doing this. I thought about welding in a 4spd consoul replacement but i think the rust goes out to far to just cut out the old piece and put in the new. Any suggestions?

I believe many repo houses sell this part.. I also remember seeing one on our sponsor's web page.. Thats is what I would recommend. Depending on the extent of your rot, you can get away with patching with repair metal... But I wouldn't use anything THIN if something goes wrong with your trans, you want thick metal between your leg and the flying debris http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif Good Luck

So i should buy a repo patch panel for a console stick shift and use some other metal to join it to the floor where the rust is bad?
