I have heard the El Camino frame is identical to a Convertible frame except it is about 3 inches extended at the rear. I was also told you could make a covertible frame just by cutting the extra off of the end. Is this true? This sure would make my life easier on tring to get a boxed frame at an affordable price. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I posted a reply in Tech 2001. This is probably the correct forum though. Like I said in that reply, we need a year model.

I am mostly concerned about the 72 year model. I think this would cover 68 to 72 year models though. I have a 72 chevelle and I have found a 71-72 year model El camino frame.
