I get that e-mail a couple time a month. Its a scam, thay just want your info. Delete the message or contact ebay and ask them.

Forward it to "spoof@ebay.com" I get them all the time too. If you look at the e-mail closely, it will only say "ebay user" and will not have your real e-bay user name. ANy e-mail that comes directly from e-bay has your user name in it.

I get them on a regular basis and have even reported to Ebay. Like I said in an earlier post, watch out for the fake Pay Pal information renewal emails. All they want is your credit info also.

Do not open any email related to ebay, especially is they ask you to log in.
Go thru "my eBay" in a new browser window open to ebay.com.

If it is a legit email, there should be a copy in "my messages".

spam, you will also get ones supposedly from paypal saying a second email address has been added to your account and a link to check if it is not ok. Or emails from what looks like a buyer saying they already paid (your instinct is to email them back which releases the virus). I just delete them and next time I go to ebay or paypal check my messages there. That is how they communicate with you. Also no bank, mortgage company, stock broker, credit union, or other financial insitution will EVER communicate problems to you via email and ask for account information. It always come by US mail if you have a problem. Anything else that looks suspicious just delete it, if its important they will contact you by mail, which is necessary to establish that they did legally contact you.

Yeah. It will say hello, Bryan (Bowtie-Bry)

NEVER click on any link in an email from ebay or paypal. Every legitimate message from ebay will be also listed in the "my messages" section like was mentioned before, unless it is a sold notice, but those are seen in the "my ebay" section as well.

always forward them to spoof@ebay or spoof@paypal. I have had one where it said my picture was not found, and click there to re-link it. It took ebay 2 days to research it and make sure it wasn't from them. Normally it takes about 10 minutes.

That's what eBay says, but it isn't always true. I got five messages from eBay that were NOT copied to My Messages. They involved receiving awards (gift certificates) based on an eBay contest for writing eBay Guides/Reviews.

I sent the first one to spoof@eBay.com and was told it was legitimate. I've spent almost all the gift certificates, so they must have been legitimate.

Point is, it better have your real name on the email, and you can always verify through spoof@ebay.com
