There is a forum for supplier reviews.

http://www.chevelles.com/reviews/showcat.php?cat=15

But I think it's in the members area?

My experience...Yes, they don't seem to give out shipping prices, but they have always been more then fair to me. I also like the quality of their stuff.

You want unfair shipping prices, then go to OPGI. See vendor reviews.

Did you try to discuss the issue with them?

I paid what I think was very resonable shipping for some large items from NPD and they took ALL my money so I didn't have to worry about having a different shipping charge when it arrived.

but I bet this gets deleted.

I just bought over $3500 from OPGI and not only did they go out of thier way to get me my items, they combined items as much as they could, and saved me over $1000 on pricing over the catolog price. Everything arrived in perfect shape. For example: I ordered a '67 ss hood, and passanger fender; the shipping was only $90 dollars shipped by old daminion. I guess it depends on who you talk to when placing your order...

If the thread does get deleted it gives a bad inpression of this website. Does that mean when a supplier becomes a member/sponser they can take advantage of Chevelle.com members and they can do whatever they want and no body can say anything bad about them, and as long as they pay money thay can continue taking advantage? If this is the case they need to charge all the members a fee so at least a person can go to this site and feel that fellow members are covering thier backs, not the sponsers. Just my two cents. If this is true let me know and I'm out of here....

They don't have anything to do with the running of this site, they are merely a sponsor. Paid memberships go to support Team Chevelle, not Ground Up.

Exactly.

I have had great experiences with a smaller company new me called Auto City Classics. Even though I drove to get my new dash carrier and some other stuff they normally stock (30 miles), They were out of the cluster lens. They shipped it to me about 2 days later for no extra charge (I already get a good discount from them), which surprised me. I don't think they made anything on it, but kept me more than happy. I would have had no problem getting it picked up on mine dime instead of thiers. :hurray:

Dude its not about them being a sponsor its about talking about a company online in a forum can have legal issues. Read the second post, you signed that you wouldn't bash any companies. So does that mean you are out of here when/if they delete this post because it didn't follow the rules? That sounds really silly.

Dude, my post has nothing to do with a sponsor; it has to do with trust of a website. Secondly, I'm the author of this reply so Chevelle. com is not responsible. Websites come and go esp if trust is lost by its members.

I used Ground-Up when restoring my 69 Camaro and both Chevelles. Most of the sales (thousands of dollars worth) were sent to me with no shipping charges, or 10% - 12% off the catalog price. Don't PAID Team Chevelle members get a 10% discount. The cost to support the site would more than pay for itself in parts savings. Shipping charges have gone up just like everything else that requires gas to perform a service.

I just bought a battery shut-off for my trailer battery from Jegs. The shut off was $15.00 and the shipping was $10.50. I figured it's the price you pay for having the guy in the brown truck, handing you the part at your front door.

Guys, these posts about vendors always end up having to be deleted as one person is happy another is not.
Ground Up does get discussed here from time to time as they are a sponsor so it seems to be a good spot to air complaints, as it will get noticed. We typically remove all of these about any vendor and this one will be no exception.

Joe removed his original post and I"d appreciate if he could send the info to me directly am@chevelles.com (it was removed before I had a chance to copy it) as I would like to pass it along to the supplier. I believe any supplier needs to be aware of issues.

As to the comments about vendors and the replies being the sole responsibility of the poster, that is sadly not true. The website is the legal target in most of these cases despite what is believed.
eg: nobody knows who "username" really is so who are they going to go after? yup, the name of the person who is responsible for the site. been there, done that, burns up a lot of time defending an anonymous person on the internet.
