I am trying to find the best plug wires to use with my hei setup on my 350 with headers. I have 2 sets and both sets have at least 2 wires that are way to long. They look like crap no matter how I route them.

Although I am not using a HEI, I routed my wires under the headers. Moroso makes wires specifically for this. You can get them at summit, Jegs ect...

The problem with universal fit pre-terminated wires is everybody uses a different wire routing. Therefore these wires never seem to fit anybody's setup perfectly, but are usually long enough to fit any circumstance.

Personally, I will never use a pre-terminated set again, cause I didnt' like the extra loops of wire. I use the Accel superstock wires (p/n 4041k). They only have the plug end on them. You have to cut to length, and crimp on the dist. end. They come with the crimper that you can use in a vise with a hammer, as well as both styles of terminals and boots for the HEI and points style dist. The first time you make your own wires it might be a little frustrating, but after making a few, it's a piece of cake. And the lenghts will be exactly what you want. :)

I use the cut-to-fit Taylor or MSD wires. I never saw a set of "universal" wires that fit correctly.

I used MSD brand wires and cut them to size with ease. I am gonna stick with this brand.

I used MSD for a bbc with HEI, the boots are bendable and hold the angle you put them at.

Wire length for a mid model camaros by that I mean before they went to the distributor behind the water pump in the 5.7. Like 88-92. These run under and behind the headers.
I would get the kind you wnat from Mallory and get the cut to fit lenghth and invest in a good pair of wire pliers. I like the idea of running under the headers unless you liek t oshow off your new wires. If thats the case buy the ones with a 60 degree at the spark plug end.
