: Pictures fo the Yellow Kandy...
70_chevelle Mar 10th, 04, 9:58 AM This is not a chevelle but I decided to post it here because this is where I get most my questions answered. It's House of Kolor yellow with their lime/gold kandy on top. When I was shooting the kandy after 3 coats it looked a little too green for my liking so I stopped and cleared, but the next day the green was gone! So with that information I wish I would have shot 1 or 2 more coats of the lime/gold for a little deeper color but as is I still like it, it's the brightest yellow I've ever seen. Here are some shot of it:

7DSS Mar 10th, 04, 10:53 AM Lee,
Your have some of the nicest cars I've seen, the colors are incredible....Can I come live with you? My kids would get along with yours, I'm sure our wives would get along, and I can mow your lawn while your painting my car. graemlins/beers.gif Sound good?
Anyway, I have been wanting to paint my Chevelle candy apple red for a long time (not to copy your wife's Camaro, but man that is exactly what I've been looking for). In your experience, is this paint scheme as durable as a 2 stage? What I mean is in the long run, after many weekends in the sun and such, does the color really hold out? Have you ever had to repair an area on a candy paint job, is it a PIA?
I've been scanning the car lots looking for a color, and every one I've picked is a 3 stage. I've been leary of the 3 stage for some reason, and could use some advise. Thanks.
C_Boyd Mar 10th, 04, 1:31 PM Thats pretty sweet man! How'd you get the gauges from the truck in there? They almost look like they would of came with the car originally. You really do some awsome work with your cars.

Cameano Mar 10th, 04, 2:23 PM That's an awesome color, love it. graemlins/thumbsup.gif I might have to check it out, was going down to the paint store today for some more primer. I've already got the paint for my El Camino, it's listed as a '78 Dodge Taxi yellow, it's pretty bright in itself, but nowhere near yours. It's PPG's Concept line, single stage acrylic urethane. I've shot the engine block with it, and it looks great in the sun, gotta wear the shades. I was thinkin' about using the same color in 2 stage for my bike when I tear it down for it's 10k service :D but now I see I'll have to cosider this HOK paint.
baddbob71 Mar 10th, 04, 11:05 PM very very very nice graemlins/beers.gif That candy must be bouncing light within the layers to get a glow like that smile.gif Is that an air bag I see? Is it functional? It sure would be nice to install an airbag in my son's Nova smile.gif
lucky3 Mar 11th, 04, 6:56 PM How much for the car?
chevelledude71 Mar 11th, 04, 7:30 PM The car looks great, I think it's close to the brightness of my Chevelle. (Zinc Yellow)
feedphillipnow Mar 11th, 04, 7:36 PM DANG, not bad at all. Thats some nice shiny clean paint, and the body! Whew....
70_chevelle Mar 11th, 04, 9:19 PM Thanks everyone. It was a blast to do. I havent been a yellow fan but I thought with the black top and stripe it would break it up. Plus the kandy really helped out...
The next 67 I'm starting on might be a nice organic green kandy.
