: so i changed my light bulb

well i changed my light bulb
the light bulb was burnt at the front of the house and i decided to put a new one in.
i unscrewed the light bulb out, then proceed to open a box which contained the new light bulb.
i installed the light bulb by screwing it in the opposite direction that i turned to take it out.
right now, the light bulb works great and lights up everytime.
anyone had similar experiences?

"i installed the light bulb by screwing it in the opposite direction that i turned to take it out."

But, the new lightbulb wasn't previously installed so you didn't turn it to take it out.

I'm skeptical about this. Do you have documentation to back that up?:D

I don't think so.

There was never any documented evidence to substantiate that claim.
There was talk in 1972 of making a left handed thread for the GE 1200 but the idea was scrapped.

Also, there was a guy in Nebraska that tried to build one but the IRHT (International Right Hand Thread) Assoc. took him to court and won stating that left hand threads will not only confuse the public, but would stir a worldwide outcry, possibly ending in world war.

How do I know this?
It is because I have never worn underwear and that has made me an expert.
Thanks

looks like another light bulb burnt out in the house.
since i unscrew the bulb half way to save power, i screwed one in to 'turn it on' and it burnt out right in my fingers
i was thinking, what if that thing exploded, i mean i felt the filliment hit the glass.
would a right handed thread save this from happening? which brand of light bulbs do you guys recommend?
is there any forum members around here that could help me install a light bulb professionally? ;) i could help out with their chevelle in return.

But the BIG question is, did you replace it with an OEM bulb, or a re-pop?? And in either case, what did you torque it down to??:waving: :D

it was all covered up by the CIA in the 50s, most LHBs are kept in a secret location somewhere in Navada, some found there way into society, most have been recovered now, I was commisioned by a top secret team to test these bulbs and report the results directly to the pentagon, I need protection and imunity before I publish my findings which will have world wide devistating
implications, they are watching me now as we speak, if you never hear from me again you can find my files in aaahhhhggggg......................

Is it a requirement, that all TC members ask a timing question at least once?!?

You guys are lucky to have the light fixtures where the bulb simply unscrews. Everytime I have to change a bulb on the front of the house, it is a weekend long project. First I have to get out the air chisel, which means running about 200' of air hose from the garage to the front of the house. Then you carefully chisel out the brick that the lite fixture is bolted to. Remove the lite fixture but be real careful to not touch the black & white wires but truthfuly, sometimes just for a little fun, I will touch both wires together just to make sure they are still live. Then while carefully holding the bulb, you rotate the lite fixture (still attached to the chiseled out brick) to remove the bulb. After this it's pretty easy to finish up. Just mix up some mortar and reset the brick back into the wall, this is where it gets really trick -already has the lite fixture attached & new bulb installed. Wrap up the 200' of air hose, clean the mortar out of the wheelbarrow, sweep up all the chiseled brick, then wash down the front walk of all the stone dust.

No! It might not seal good and result in an electricity leak!

It must've been a re-pop. He stated in his other post that it popped in his hand. (Hmm, but then it could still be deemed a pop bulb instead of a re-pop if you think this through...) :D

i can get 4 days out of a pair of boxers.
wear them right way, turn them around for the next day, and then turn them inside out, right way out, and then turn them around again.
so in that case 75 boxers would last.... im not sure, a long time.
