Question for El Camino experts. On 70 SS Camino’s, was the trim along the bottom of the car an option? I have seen only a couple of “SS”’s with the lower side trim, and was not able to verify authentication. Also, was the center tailgate trim and black in the center an option? I have seen many “SS”’s (again unable to verify authentication) that do not have this trim and paint. Just wondering if these were clones or actual possible trim combinations with the "SS" option. I was not sure which forum to post this in, but with the auto-body being my favorite… Here it is.

On a 70 SS el Camino, the only trim on the sides should be wheel lip mouldings, and bright trim on the door pillars. On the rear, the area between the mouldings on the tailgate should be painted semi gloss black, nearly glossy... definitely not glass black, but not completely flat either. This was black on ALL SS caminos, from 68-72.
