I just got back from the PPG dealer, I got some 3M strip discs and am going to go to town tonight on the rusty roof anyway, when I asked them about Crystler flame red they said they needed a paint code and year. This is a DBC that I am looking for, by the way how can I see what this looks like other than buy some and shoot a test pannel which will get expensive in a hurry. Thanks, Zach

If they sell paint they CAN get the code, they are just being lazy.

Just ask for the color book. If I remember right that color was introduced in 98 and in use to 02 to 03 cars. So all you need is the chrylser color chip book from around 98-03. A color chip book will list ALL the OEM codes with a small color sample. That sample just shows what the color MIGHT look like, its close but no cigar.

Ive yet to be in ANY store that sold paint that DIDNT have the color chip books be it a PPG, dupont or S-W store.

But since am such a nice guy Ill give ya the numbers.
My red of choice Inferno red
OEM# PEL PPG# 5469
Flame red
OEM# PR4 PPG# 4679
Radiant Fire Red a deeper darker red then Flame
OEM# R87 PPG# 4273

The ONLY way to see what that color will look like is spray some out. Or you look around at dealership and hope you find a car with that code.

But ALL of those colors have alternate color formuals, PPG has a seprate chip book for the alternate colors. Ask to see that chip book, that will show you a pretty close match to what the color will look like. I think all three of those colors are in chrylser book #1
