Hey folks,
the fuel guage on my 02 Regal is erratic. It keeps fluctuating between just under half and 3/4 a tank. I know the tank was around 1/4 to just under half full. Any ideas on what may be causing this?

Kevin, Most of the time it is the in tank sender that causes this problem.Sender is about $160 at the dealer. There is no simple way to check this.Some vehicle fuel gauges(in dash)can be tested with a scan tool,but I do not know for sure on this one.Steve

Our 2000 Buick Regal GS "beater" has the same problem. We just live with it.

Try checking your ground first. If it has corrosion or a bad connection , it could do the same.
