Hello there,
I'm looking at a 1970 S/S chevelle and wonder if any one can tell me what the vin numbers start with the person who owns it doesn't know if it's a true S/S or not just know's that it has a "396" doesn't know the horse power and has a 400 tranny. any help would help.

Where do we start.. Go here in the resto section and you can see the things that will help you. .. Personally, If I were buying a chevelle from someone, and he said he does not know,, then I do,its not real.. real big difference in price.. phil post the vin here .

But, there is no way to tell from the VIN if it was/is an SS or not.
