I am restoring my 65 Elky and there are two things I need to do to the vent window assembly. First, I need to replace the rubber in the assembly. Does anyone have an easy way to replace the rubber. It looks like after I remove the nut and spring from the bottom, the stud on the wing window is still in the way. It seems I have to remove the rivot where the window pivots in order to remove and replace the rubber. Second, one of my wing windows has a broken stud for the wing window latch. I bought another assembly but it isn't in as good of shape as mine. Does anyone know if I can remove just that corner piece for the latch and put in on mine. It looks like if you remove/replace the glass that this piece will come out. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Marvbon. For my 66 version I had te remove the lower rail you can see on this picture http://www.si.hhs.nl/~rob/images/scanned/233_dis_vent_1.jpg
The stud for the window latch is screwed on and can be replaced. I don't know if the latches interchange. The NPD catalog shows different numbers for 65 and 66.

Marvbon;
You are correct that you will have to remove the two small rivets hold on the upper pivot point (bracket). DO NOT TOUCH THE PIVOT PIN!
When you go to put it back together, I'd recommend that you get some stainless steel rivets. They are a little hard to locate, but clamp down a lot better than normal rivets. The fact that they are "stainless" really doesn't mean that much to me, but they really are stonger.
I don't know about that pivot shaft for the latch, but I think that the metal bracket that it is mounted to is removable from the glass.
