I am in the dreaming stage of building a detached workshop. Can you please post pics of your "home away from home".

Added a bar, stereo, TV, mini fridge, and my lift. VCT b/w tiles. Just finished.

Jeff, how do you find this stuff? I'm convinced that if someone asked for a link to brain surgury, you'd have a link:waving:

Here's mine. Detached. Lots of storage upstairs. Have my wood working stuff up there although it really needs organazation. I went 2 story because of limitations for sq footage where I live. 2 story only counts the footprint.

Nothing to it. Most of the time the links are from previous posts right here on TC (chevelle and camaro). The link above is from a previous post GB70 posted awhile back. Then google can usually find anything. Having the google toolbar installed helps. Only bad thing about that is sometimes a lot of the first page links are to other search pages that go to commercial type stuff.

BTW a google search on Brain surgery had 12 MILLION results.

Here's mine

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c190/procharged79/firestones028.jpg

It's a 30x50 with a 14 foot high ceiling. I enclosed the far end to make room for my paint booth (14x28)

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c190/procharged79/paintbooth020.jpg

I also have a 2 post lift, sorry but I don't have a pic of it without the car on it.

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c190/procharged79/exhaust016.jpg

I know, I know, it looks like hammered poo-poo underneath there, but that's why I built the paint booth :D BTW, that's 4" exhaust that I'm hoping will keep the blown 540 quiet enough so I can putt down to Sonic for a burger.
That's the side of the paint booth in the back ground along with the entry door and the return air duct above the door.

I like the liberal use of tie wire as exhaust hangers....

Just because we have them, doesn't mean we own them.

This is what I will eventually get to work in. It is still a work in progress, but it's worth the wait. Kind of a father/son project.

50'x50' 3-bay, with a 2-post lift and a bathroom.

You guys rock. Those are some seriously nice shops.

After spending the first 20 years wrenching on dirt, gravel, pavement under Mother Nature, we bought a house with a garage !

It's good to be grateful for small miracles. It's only 12 X 24, but I feel lilke I won the lotto. Heat, lights, tunes, concrete floor, secure doors, 220V, some hottie posters, a couple of cold Bud's, and my 68 taking up space....and my wife's cool enough to park her truck outside.

It's perfect in my twisted little world.

I don't have a picture of my workbench, but it is about 35ft long and always seems to stay covered with projects/parts. When I need to work on something, I can manage to clear off about a 3ft section of it! :D

Can you feel the JEALOUSY all the way from Vermont? Can you? Awesome shop Dan...now you have to fill it up with Chevelles! What a perfect spot to do the resto on the '71 convertible.

By the way, Zac's car is no longer sitting in front of the garage--------------------it's at the frame shop as we speak! FINALLY! :hurray:

As you can see, we have a right inner fender, core support, headlight buckets (little stuff like the buckets and misc brackets are hard to find!!!!) and the wiring harness installed. So far, we have 12v out to all the harness terminals!

Greg-there is an airstrip about a 1/4 mile from the shop. Just fly on in and I'll give you the tour. Had to hit the brakes on the 71 with all my "ready cash" and time going into the shop for now. Hopefully will get back on that sometime next winter. Actually, it is somewhat roadworthy but real ugly, so probaly will drive it around a little the way it is, just not where anybody will see me. :waving:
