can anyone tell me what 8.5 rear end will fit a 69 el camino?? I have been told by one source the only one that will fit is a 72 cutlass, is this true?? I have a new set of 3.42 gears and a rebuilt posi carrier so I'd rather not change ships midstream.. Thanks, Mike

i've found them under 71-72 cutlass and skylark.just got 1 last week for my 68.

I got a 8.5 under my 69 Malibu out of a 72 cutlass, I actually found one with stock c-clip eliminators, a spool, and 4.10s for 250.00. It bolted right in, no problems that I remember.
