well, Im taking my velle too the paint shop tomorrow morning. They are going to remove the black vinyl top(which is a shame, excellent condition)and are going to paint the top white to match the rest of the car. The reason I am doing this is because water had made its way into the top and caused the paint to bubble and crack and both sides of the car under the molding. I always wanted a real hard top anyway. I will post before and after pictures for you guys when its done. Thank god its winter, i'd be itching to drive the beast if the weather was still nice!

Cool, I want to do the exact opposite.. I don't have a vinyl roof on my El Camino.. But I will be adding it someday.
I dunno how you do it.. I still drive my El Camino on days when it's cold out, and hasn't snowed in a few days. That way everything is frozen and there's no spray from the roads. I had a set of studded tires put on just for this purpose, since it's usually a lil' icy out when it's really cold. I try not to drive it too much, but it's just too much fun to leave cooped up the whole time from October to April..
