Haven't gotten into blasting, but the original colors are as follows. Parts of mine like the kick panel metal and inner firewall is the same color as the exterior primer, a reddish color but the floor pans are a semi-gloss black with some exterior overspray. Most guys here use a satin black for the whole thing or even POR-15 to prevent rust. You can get the satin black paint from Eastwoods, it's the same stuff you'd use in the engine compartment on inner fenders, the core support, etc. I'd go with that instead of POR for interior because with the POR it could get messy and it would take quite a bit to cover everything. Good luck!

I've talked to people who have done this and they swear they'd never do it again. The problems start when you try to clean up after you're done blasting. You can never get rid of all the leftover sand.

Freddy,
I have sand blasted the interior of a convert not too long ago. (it was a F*&d, Galaxie 500XL Conv) The car was completely gutted, I even had the wiring out.

It took about 2 hours to blast the passenger compartment and trunk. Most of the sand fell out the holes in the floor boards, rockers, rear quarters and trunk floor

Then it took over 4 hours to clean out and vacuum up the sand. I had to use small diameter hose on the vacuum to snake down into in-accessable areas to get the sand out. It was a pain to do but you have to get it all out cause later down the line it will hold moisture and attack the metal.

I'm going to be blasting the interior, trunk and the underside of the car very soon (My car is on a rotisserie). So I have an ad on question, what is the best media for this? I have already stripped the undercoating.

Call around in your area to see about "Soda Blasting". It doesn't leave the abrasive down in all the nooks and crannies, and doesn't temper the metal or risk warpage like sand. Soda is so gentle that it won't hurt glass if you choose to leave it in, but take it out anyway. Nothing can work under the weaterstip. When it all boils down.... do what ya want, and best of luck.
